BUILDING WORKS AT
13th April – 20th Sept 2015
We want to inform you that the school we meet at on Sundays will be carrying out some major building works to the canteen area over the next 5-6 months. This will involve some major adjustment for us on Sundays. Here are the contingency plans for this period.
1. CAR PARK AND DRIVEWAY
The normal driveway into the school and the current car park will NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS PERIOD
The upper car park in MALLARDS WAY IS AVAILABLE but we will need to walk back down St Barnabas Road and then enter via a pedestrian route in the current driveway.
Those who cannot do so may be dropped off at the entrance of the drive.
2. FOYER AND CANTEEN
The whole canteen area will be boarded off from halfway across the entrance foyer to the main hall. Access to the hall will be via this reduced sized foyer area between the front doors and the main hall.
3. ACTIV8 KIDS
Activ8 Large will move to the music rooms at the rear of the main hall. Groups will stay as they are.
4. HOSPITALITY AND WELCOME
Hospitality and welcome will operate in the reduced foyer area.
5. MAIN HALL
This will be available as usual except that there will be items stored in the main hall for the duration for the works including the existing dining tables and chairs from the dining area.
Remember parts the school will also be a building site!! We all need to take extra care in moving round the building and particularly parents will need to ensure they are aware of where their kids are at all times!
This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the strength of the Bridge Church culture. Sure there will be some adjustments to be made but how we respond and overcome this inconvenience will speak volumes about us as a community.
We don’t come to church because the building is comfortable or convenient – we come as a worshipping community to honour God and fulfil his purpose. In order to do this well we must commit to a few things!!
1. WE MUST BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT START TIME
This is crucial. We cannot just turn up a few minutes before start time and roll into church. We are suggesting give yourself at least 15-20minfrom entering the upper car park to sitting in your chair. We recommend that you aim to arrive at 10.20am.
2. WE MUST BE PATIENT AND CONSIDERATE
We don’t know exactly how the details will work out – obviously there will be some serious adjustments to make so please make it your aim to be part of the answer not the problem
3. WE MUST BE PREPARED TO GET INVOLVED
This is an opportunity for more people to get involved and serve the house. We cannot rely on the good old faithful’s alone to carry the extra burden. Additional jobs will be created so please take responsibility to jump in and get involved.
In particular we need people to help with stewarding from the upper car park to the main entrance. A team of 8 people minimum would mean two people on each week and this would require you to be on duty just once a month for the five months.
ALL HANDS ON DECK!
Nothing happens without God having a purpose in it. We can either grind through this season or we can use it positively to strengthen our commitment, culture and resolve to serve GOD WITH EXCELLENCE!!
This could be an amazing season of growth for us – so lets do it RIGHT
